I was Dan's roommate at McConn for two years. He was from Collegeville PA. His father was a doctor. He did not actually ever graduate from Lehigh, even though he matriculated another year - the 67-68 academic year. He did eventually get a degree from a school in the Philadelphia area. He worked in IT. He had been married, but his wife, Gretchen, died before him. She died of cancer. After that he became very reclusive. He was the best man in my wedding and the closest friend I ever had.. A memory: Lying on his bed smiling he was the spitting image of the Cheshire cat in Disney's movie, "Alice in Wonderland". I learned of his death from his brother who called to let me know. This was several years ago. He was one of the nicest, most likeable people I have ever met.
